Framing Textiles at SE1 Picture Frames

Framing

When framing textiles, our experienced staff, can guide you through the framing options available and help you decide on the right framing solution for your artwork. However, it is  important that you are involved in the decision making process and a good starting point is to consider the period and feel of the textile that you are having framed  and how a frame may and what may suit your interior/purpose and how it would would with the textile. We always encourage to keep things simple.

Mounting

There are a variety of ways to stretch and mount textiles. The majority of time the piece of textile is sewn onto a backing board to stretch it. This is always discussed with the client in advance and we asses each job individually.

Glazing

UV filtering glass and acrylic is available. We always encourage this glazing option if the piece is valuable or  if you are worried about discolouration of the textile. If reflections are a problem then we can offer anti-reflection glass.
