Jack Goldstein

SE1 Picture frames framed these records by artist Jack Goldstein. The records have been presented in a the way Jack Goldstein originally presented them on his studio wall, very simply pinned through the centre. the have been framed in a hand painted and waxed, white ash box frame with Museum quality glass.

In 1976, Goldstein started a new body of work, the coloured vinyl records of sound recordings. These records conjured intense visuals with titles such as “Burning Forest” or “The Tornado.” These audio works were also designed as “images” with the possibility to play them. Goldstein conceived his records as both sound carriers and visual objects, saying “the records, they’re sounds as image, so I saw them as pictures.”
