Excellent exhibition on at the White Cube on Bermondsey Street.

Chuck close is one of the most celebrated artists working today. Since the late 1960s he has been concentrating on portraiture and the human face in painting and photography. Close has employed various painterly styles throughout his career, including the neo-realism of the 1970s and pointillisme in the 1980s, but he is perhaps best known for his more recent portraits which are made up from abstract small rippling squares that when seen from a distance  create an image of his subject as if looking through water.

This exhibition at the White Cube gallery on Bermondsey Street SE1 brings together a range of these large scale works and shows the various stages of the work and the processes involved in the making.

Excellent show. Well worth checking out.
